To support the growing interest, volunteer coordinators are set up in the United States (including Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Jersey City, and New York City), Argentina, Mexico, and Chile to serve as points of contact and organize local events.
For his work, Tsewang received a 2015 Culture of Excellence award from the bank. This prestigious honor recognizes colleagues from across the Americas who have made significant contributions to MUFG’s collective goals, objectives, and successes. In addition, Tsewang has successfully established a global relationship between SOS Children’s Villages (SOS) and MUFG. MUFG currently supports projects in São Paulo (Brazil), Mexico City (Mexico), and Chicago (USA). Tsewang is a former Tibetan refugee and completed his schooling from SOS in India.
Outside work, Tsewang is actively engaged in the field of contemplative science and is passionate about any projects related to poverty alleviation. He currently serves on the Board of The Tibet Fund and as the Advisory Chair of the Reimagining Doeguling (www.doeguling.com) project.
